Holiday Capsule Wardrobe: 5 pieces, 5 ways

It’s another capsule wardrobe, this time for holiday wardrobe! This week are the basic pieces for a mini wardrobe to get you through this festive holiday season in style!

5 piece holiday wardrobe

What you need:

-Something Sparkly: I choose a sparkle skirt (from the children’s sectionsimilar adult size here) but a sparkle tank (like this) or a sparkly accessory would do the trick. A statement piece does wonders for this little wardrobe.

-Something Festive: A red cardigan isn’t overly festive but the color is right on cue for the season. Choose a piece that fits or personal style but in bright color or even a pattern.

-Something Casual: I have such a range of events to go to that I pair of jeans to dress things down was a must. Not every holiday event is dressy so a pair of jeans can easily be dressed up or down.

-Something Cozy: Winter is all about the sweaters. By choosing a dark solid color, this piece will work with the skirt and jeans and work well with accessories.

-Something Fun: I love patterns so naturally I had to throw in a print somewhere! Black and white stripe is so classic and works with a few great accessories.

There you have it: a few pieces that you already have in your closet + a fun extra or 2 will get you through this season in style and ready for anything!

Happy Monday again! I’m back with another 31 ways in 31 days (stripped shirt and denim shirt here). I love blouses because they are so versatile. I can wear them to class with jeans or wear them to teach in. So many ways to wear it and doesn’t take up much space in my tiny dorm closet. Win, win!

31 ways in 31 days: Denim Shirt

Happy Monday! I’m back with the next installment in the 31 ways 31 days challenge (see the striped shirt here). I am a sucker for denim shirts as they are casual but can be dressed up with the right pieces. They are comfortable, which is always a plus! I also like how they can be layered, either under a jacket or as an extra layer on top of a blouse. For this transitional weather, the denim shirt is my hero and solves the what to wear daily obstacle.

31 ways in 31 days: stripped shirt

And we are back! In case you just stopped over, I am doing a fall capsule using pieces based off of these and am starting with the stripped shirt! I love this piece because it is so versatile, dress it up with a skirt and heels or dress it down with jeans and flats. I even tried to do different styles like tomboy chic and slight hippie to show just how versatile this one piece can fill in so many different holes in a closet.

31 days 31 ways

Another fashion challenge! I loved the 20 pieces for 30 days challenge I did this summer with Caitlin and she is back with 31 ways to remix pieces into new outfits. I’m excited to get this challenge underway so without further ado, these are pieces that are similar to the ones that I will be using for the challenge. Want to do the challenge with me?

fall capsule wardrobe

I’ll be posting each week 6 new outfits of how I styled the pieces. I am not limiting my accessories so get ready for accessory overload! I decided to keep it simple and fall-approved with neutral colors with a few pops of stripes and texture. Basics go a long way in my book. I’ll be posting my first 6 outfits by the end of this week!
